Topic:  How Sustainable is Russia's Resurgence?

Chris Bort has been a Russia specialist for over 27 years for the U.S. Intelligence Community, at both the National Security Agency and CIA, where he analyzes and interprets Russia’s political and policy direction for the U.S. Government’s top policymakers and helps lead the Community’s efforts to understand Russia. 

He speaks near-native Russian and has spent a good deal of time in the Soviet Union and post-Soviet Russia, following its trajectory from Communist superpower to broken and impoverished former empire, to its current uncertain resurgence. 

He received his BA in Russian in 1981 from the University of Maryland and his MA from George Washington University in 1986.
